I live in Hudson with my husband Bobby and two sons, Ryan (17) and Quintin (14). My daughter Angela and grandson Sam live in Virginia Beach. I was born and raised in Hibbing, MN, which is on Minnesota’s Iron Range. In 1994, I graduated from the University of Minnesota and have been working in healthcare since.
You could say I am a part of the pink wave. I decided to become active in local politics after the 2016 election. While it was devastating to see Trump elected I was not that surprised. I had been working and driving in rural Polk, Pierce, and St Croix counties and literally saw the signs!
My daughter and I attended the Women’s March in Washington D.C the day after Trump’s inauguration. To stand with millions of people who felt that same sense of urgency to resist was both incredibly inspiring and validating. After returning home I pledged that I would continue to take action to spread the values of inclusion and government for the people. Soon after, I attended my first St. Croix County Democrats meeting, ran for election to the County Board of Supervisors, and ultimately won.
I am motivated to give back to our local party that assisted me during my campaign. I love the sense of camaraderie in working together to get candidates elected. Watching our values being recognized through our recent successes at the local and State level has been thrilling. I look forward to doing my part in keeping the momentum going!
