Addressing our Mental Health Crisis

mental health crisis.jpg

I have been a practicing mental health professional in this region for over thirty years and as such have witnessed the struggles those with mental health have when they face a crisis.

When someone needs to be hospitalized, they are all too often faced with a four hour drive to the Winnebago facility on the other side of the State. This is just unacceptable and places a huge burden, not only on the person themselves, but on law enforcement and other County resources. Unfortunately, the State has not responded adequately to the clear need for additional inpatient beds.

As you make your voting decisions this November, please vote for state legislators like Patty Schachtner who understand this issue and will work tirelessly to support those in need of high quality mental health treatment.
